Abstract

En este artículo inicialmente se realiza una descripción general de los aspectos técnicos asociados a una planta de generación de energía eléctrica que utilice el biogás producido por los residuos sólidos urbanos (RSU) depositados en un relleno sanitario. Así mismo se hace una revisión de la normativa que existe en el país, y de los esquemas de remuneración económica más utilizados en otros países para las energías renovables no convencionales (ERNC). Finalmente se selecciona un esquema aplicable en Colombia para este tipo de energías, y se demuestra mediante un ejemplo la viabilidad financiera de una planta de generación de este tipo.
