Difficulties in secondary students' learning and initial use of functions.

In this article it reports the findings of an investigation that aimed to analyze the difficulties of students the do transformations between records of representation of a function. Was made a descriptive study of cases with a group of students from an educational institution of the Colombian rural sector. It is concluded that students have difficulty with the identification and use of the elements of the function, with the attainment of steadiness and growth pattern, the development of a model of the situation and in the use of the concept of equation to find unknown.Downloads
