Abstract

La presente investigación pretende identificar las variables que tienen mayor influencia en la mortalidad estudiantil en las materias Matemáticas I, Matemáticas II, Matemáticas III, Matemáticas IV y Algebra Lineal en los programas de Ingeniería Física, Ingeniería Eléctrica e Ingeniería en Sistemas y Computación, esto con el propósito de tomar decisiones que permitan intervenir adecuada y oportunamente el fenómeno. Para la realización de este estudio se tomó como base la información con la que cuenta el Observatorio Académico adscrito a la Facultad de Ingeniería Industrial, la base de datos sobre información de los estudiantes de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira la cual es manejada por división de sistemas, y además fue necesaria la recopilación de datos primarios y personales mediante una encuesta diseñada por los investigadores. Finalmente, con la información recopilada se procedió a realizar un tratamiento estadístico descriptivo para evidenciar el fenómeno objeto de investigación, posteriormente se hizo uso de la técnica estadística Regresión Logística Multinomial para así poder identificar los factores (variables) objeto de estudio.
