This work presents a methodology for the design and
modeling of a mechanical drive for a jackhammer and a belt
conveyor. Initially it is described the different systems of power
transmission of which this is composed, giving a perspective of the
transforming means movements. Subsequently the electric motor
selection is made and the equations are show for calculating for
different steps (belt transmissions, chain sprockets and wheels).
The results or parameters obtained must be standardized using
commercial catalogs to then reach a possible construction of the
drive. Finally the assembly drawings and the exploded views of the
elements that compose the system are made in a software of
modeling 3D.
