Composite panels were elaborated with Arundo Dónax fibers randomly distributed in a vegetal resin. The fibers were extracted by mechanical means. For the elaboration of the panels a method of manual molding and compaction by pressing was used. The determination of the physical properties was focused on the evaluation of the absorption capacity, the density and the percentage of swelling. To evaluate the mechanical performance tensile, compression and static bending tests were performed. The influence of the percentage of fibers in the behavior of the material was analyzed. The results were compared with results available in the literature for commercial panels
