The growth in demand for masonry products for construction and the use of clays for different industrial applications in Colombia has increased since 2015 due to the excellent quality of the raw material, benefiting the country's ceramic industry. Therefore, in this article, the Bibliometric analysis (BA) of the clays study in Colombia in its different uses, applications, characterizations, and environmental sustainability was carried out using the R Bibliometrix software. The aim of this work is to provide a general visualization of the growth of the Colombian clays research topic across the years, through a historical analysis of the annual publication rate, authors, collaboration networks and institutions on this important topic for the ceramic industry. The results showed a total of 275 documents that were compiled directly from the Scopus database using two keywords ("Clays" and "Colombia"), which were published by 1,791 authors from different cities of the world, evidently predominantly Colombian authors; these publications present a growth rate of 5.08% per year from 1972 to 2020, taking into account the first publication of clays by Van Houten FB in 1972. Finally, the most representative magazine in the area of clays is the DYNA (Colombia) journal edited by the National University of Colombia, of which 58 articles belong to affiliations of this institution, followed by the Francisco de Paula Santander University with 25 articles.
