Abstract

En el presente artículo se describe un proyecto de pregrado financiado por la Oficina de Investigaciones de la U.T.P. y realizado en la Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica de la misma, el cual tuvo como finalidad desarrollar e implementar una práctica para el Laboratorio de Mecánica de Fluidos y Máquinas Hidráulicas. Por medio de esta práctica, el estudiante puede verificar el fenómeno de la cavitación en bombas centrífugas, y adicionalmente está en capacidad de construir la curva del comportamiento NPSHR (Cabeza de succión positiva neta requerida) vs. Q (Caudal) y H (Cabeza) vs. Q (Caudal) para una bomba centrífuga pequeña (de potencia inferior a 1 kW).
