Abstract

Se aisló dos compuestos ya reportados en la bibliografia pero nuevos en esta especie, el flavidulol A y la geranilhidroquinona. Adicionalmente se aislados 5 compuestos ya reportados con anterioridad, entre ellos el wigandol uno de los cmpuestos mayoritarios en la planta y dos compuetso derivados de la geranilhidroquinona. El proceso de purificación se realizó en cromatografía convencional y cromatografía de gases-masas. La identificación de los compuestos se hizo a través de técnicas espectroscópicas como Resonancia Magnética Nuclear en una y 2D, espectrometria de masas e Infrarrojo, y adicionalmente de propiedades fisicas de los compuestos.

Investigador Nacional Nivel III del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores- CONACYT.

Investigador titular C del instituto de química UNAM, en el departamento de Productos Naturales desde 1982 hasa la fecha.

Doctorado en quimica orgánica en la UNAM

Posdoctorado en la Univesidad Estatal de Luisiana, y posterioremnte hizo una estancia como profesor invitado por esta universidad.

Ha dictado conferencias en diferentes paises como Rumania, España, China, Tailandia, Colombia.
