La grúa-robot Maya es un prototipo de robot industrial cuyo objetivo es implementar un proceso de Pick and Place para la sujeción, transporte y posicionamiento de material dentro de una celda experimental de manufactura flexible.
El robot posee un sistema de sujeción versátil capaz de sujetar diversas geometrías. Su arquitectura es híbrida y cuenta con tres grados de libertad a los cuales se les implementó un control de posición mediante un controlador industrial y dos microcontroladores.
Con el desarrollo de esta máquina aumenta la flexibilidad de la celda, contribuyendo así a la automatización de los procesos de manufactura desarrollados en ella.
