Abstract

El desarrollo e implementación de modelos y/o metodologías que permitan evaluar el impacto ambiental sectorial a través del análisis de indicadores de desempeño ambiental (demanda de recursos y generación de contaminantes), facilita la visualización, estudio y entendimiento de las interacciones e impactos de los diferentes procesos antrópicos (en este caso del sector manufacturero de Risaralda) con la biosfera a nivel local, regional y nacional, facilitando la priorización y formulación de políticas y/o estrategias dirigidas a optimizar el uso y consumo de recursos naturales con base en su disponibilidad. Razón por la cual, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo evaluar el desempeño ambiental del sector manufacturero en el departamento de Risaralda e identificar las actividades industriales con la mayor incidencia ambiental a nivel departamental, con la información almacenada en el Registro Único Ambiental (RUA) de Risaralda en el periodo 2004 – 2008.
