Uno de los temas de moda en la actualidad para la investigación en Colombia, son la regalías, por tanto, para Colciencias el reto de coordinar el Sistema Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación-SNCTI, y crear sinergias e interacciones para que Colombia cuente con una cultura científica, tecnológica e innovadora es demasiado significativo y complejo, ya que es de gran trascendencia que se vinculen las regiones y la población, el sector productivo, profesionales, y no profesionales, estudiantes y docentes de básica, media, pregrado y posgrado, para que hagan presencia en las estrategias y agendas de investigación y desarrollo.
