Este artículo trata de dar una idea de una aplicación tecnológica utilizando los módulos Xbee®. Estos módulos se utilizan como router en puntos distantes, formando con estos dispositivos una red de sensores inalámbricos que permiten supervisar algunas variables físicas. Se utilizan sensores para la medición de los parámetros de temperatura ambiental, humedad relativa, precipitación y radiación solar global. Los dispositivos utilizados pueden capturar las variables continuas analógicas por los sensores y sin cables que permitan comunicación de red. La red consta de cuatro nodos de sensores que son los responsables de la recogida de datos de cada uno de los sensores, que se encuentra temporalmente en las instalaciones del CCAV UNAD Pamplona - Norte de Santander.
